Well, here we go: my first actual full colour drawing for my band chibis. I mentioned in one of my journal entries that this particular drawing was originally produced to coincide with the release of the band's 10th anniversary edition to their debut album. Having this as the first band drawing in colour certainly felt appropriate as a working of a tribute to one of the most influential bands I've ever beheld. Mind you, I'm referring to this on a more personal level. To try and explain things a little better, Slipknot was probably the first band whose music I heard that made it feel like I experienced a release of sorts. It's funny thinking back on it even now. I knew of bands like these guys existed long ago and until the years spent in Singapore, I was convinced I'd avoid them like the plague. Granted, that's about 6-7 years ago now but it doesn't change the fact that this band in particular has essentially taken part in developing me into the person I have become today. Of course, Slipknot (among many others) have also influenced me in my artwork. It would be difficult for me to just briefly elaborate on the experiences I felt through their music but I hope you can see and appreciate this drawing for what it is meant to be: a little piece of dedication to what has become a passion.
I haven't done Mudvayne yet. Though you might have to wait a while before that happens since I'm trying to get things more in order and up to date. This journal entry explains that: [link] I may very well do that though. It's kinda odd I never thought of them. Their early look definately is up there in terms of potential chibi-awesomeness as I feel I got with Lordi, Dimmu Borgir, Kiss and (of course) Slipknot.
Awesome cant wait to see your new works just dont do Mushroomhead theyre my favorite and im working on them based off of your drawings. This is acctually kinda hard
Thinking about it though, I would like to have a go at working some stuff around their music... problem is being in the right mood to do so.
